Last year, Nancy Simmons and I enjoyed an awesome day with Internationally known free motion quilter Lisa Calle. Thanks go to Babs Curran for sharing the photo (shown below) that is now posted on ladyfingerssewing.com / www.lisahcalle.com
I wanted to share this beautiful quilt made by fellow guild member and friend..Roxanne…I admit I was tentative in quilting this quilt…102″x108…. as large quilts are difficult to keep in square…but Roxanne did an amazing job with her workmanship……..I did ruler work with original free motion quilting..loved how it turned out and she was happy with it as well…Thank you for the opportunity Roxanne….so glad I had my Bernina Q 24 on the frame to do it!!!
Unfortunately with the predicted weather we have decided to cancel the Ruler Class for tomorrow..Sat. 1/13/2018 For those that signed up I have left messages in your voicemail if I did not talk to you directly…for those thinking of coming with out signing up this seemed to be the best way to get to you…….a little bummed was looking forward to seeing everyone…… but you can reschedule for this class in February, 2/24/2018 Hope to see you all there…Take Care…. Be Safe…….Happy Quilting!!!
Sharing the last quilt I finished in 2017…. pieced by good friend Laura Baumgardner …..I also wanted to post that the new class schedule is now updated till the end of March….. just a few supply lists to add…hope to see past students and looking forward to new ones……..I will be posting a slideshow of some of my favorite quilts of 2017…..soon! Wishing everyone a healthy and safe New Year!!……Be kind!…..
Sharing a quick fun photo of some amazing women I was able to spend a two session beginners class with…..they said they were beginners…AMAZING ONES! We had one session last month and finished up yesterday…they had some homework and they were over achievers…came to class with more done than asked so they all made it to the final steps to complete the most beautiful first time quilted projects…..loved these students…. they were so receptive and fun to get to know…..these students will do wonderful with their skills on future projects….Thank you ladies!! Looking forward to what you will do next!
Another quilt finished…Love these little ones…gives me a chance to try out new ruler techniques as well as free motion….found on this one I used a ruler in each hand at the same time as different arcs were needed……a little unnerving at first but very doable…. note to my students….start small …you will be able to accomplish wonderful results… a shout out to good friend Laura B…..for another fun opportunity!!! Thank you!
Last week I had the most amazing opportunity to teach at the Museum Quilt Guild…in Batavia ,New York…..I was so humbled and grateful to spend the two days of classes and of an interactive lecture with these ladies and gentlemen. Sharing a few photos of student work and of the lecture… I so enjoyed spending time with these students…..the time went too quickly…..
