A Wonderful Opportunity – attending the Bernina University (BU) event in Jacksonville, FL

A few weeks ago, My husband Kevin and I first drove to Fayetteville, NC to enjoy a weekend visit with our daughter & family before continuing to Jacksonville. This was my first time attending the annual BU (a national Bernina convention) and it was truly a wonderful experience. I participated in classes throughout the week and learned from amazing teachers Lori Kennedy, Lisa H. Calle, Nina McVeigh, and Amanda Murphy. I learned so many more ways to help my own students with their free motion quilting techniques and ruler work. The week concluded with the awards ceremony and it was my distinct honor to accept the national recognition awards for Hoover’s Bernina Sew LLC (Mifflinburg, PA) . . . for it was another amazing year for our Hoover’s Bernina family. In addition to being recognized as the 2nd Top nation-wide Single Store Bernina Dealer, Hoover’s Bernina Sew also earned recognition as being the Top Brewers Dealer, 2nd Top OESD Dealer, and 3rd Top Prosumer Dealer in the nation for the year 2018. The attached photo shows myself accepting the 2nd Top Bernina award from the Bernina Co. President.

At the conclusion of the Bernina event, Kevin and I then enjoyed a few overnight stops at Edisto Beach, SC and Williamsburg, VA to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary. We enjoyed a wonderful trip that included just under 2,000 miles of driving by car.

Class Update

Winding down summer into my favorite season.. I have updated my class schedule through the end of the year….a few new classes have been added and some favorites are being offered again…Hoping everyone is safe and healthy…would love to see everyone soon as you feel comfortable venturing out… Best regards…….Laura

Another beauty…

Sharing photos of this beautiful quilt ..pieced impeccably by Cindy Russell. I was given the opportunity to use her quilt as my open canvas….I had so much fun with this I may consider making this one myself just so I could quilt it again….second thoughts…..I much rather spend my time on the quilting part…. Thank you Cindy!….she let me post these before she sees it first hand…it goes home Saturday…..I hope you enjoy!!!

Class update for 2020

I have updated my class list for the first quarter in 2020…repeating basic classes knowing weather is never predictable during these months of the year…Hoping to have time to develop new class ideas during this time. Looking forward to seeing many of you after the New Year ….. Best Wishes for a safe and Happy Holiday Season……. sharing a photo of our late fall garden…….

Dresden Beauty..

Sharing the latest quilt for my friend Laura Baumgardner…I love everything about this quilt from her choices of fabric…to my decision how to quilt it….my quilting is not perfect but it has the human factor in it……no digitizing…all free motion and ruler work……I choose only to work this way….I so enjoy helping my friends finish their creations…..I hope you enjoy…

One of my favorite things is sharing student work…this person took my beginner class and then took my Bargello class……a shout out to Pam Watkins…..needless to say she is not a beginner anymore…not that she ever was….her work is impeccable and I was so honored when she asked if I would quilt her quilt……I love this quilt….(and so did my husband)……Thank you Pam  for this lovely opportunity……
