GUILD PROGRAMS:

Custom Design Your Own Quilt –  A 1 to a 1 1/2hour guild program that would be part lecture and interactive participation on how to custom design a quilting design for an actual quilt block. The lecture will take you through options of design using templates, free-motion, and other machine quilting techniques. It would also include different products that are available to us as quilters and how to make the best use of them for quick results.  Call or email me for price.

ALL DAY CLASSES/WORKSHOPS (on the road):

Free-motion Quilting 101 and Beyond – This is geared for true beginners as well as those with some experience and want to improve their skills.

Intermediate/Advanced Free Motion – In this class, we actually draft a quilt block out and learn different block and border designs. The student will learn what fits into squares, triangles, and borders to actually custom quilt his/her own design.

I also have a Series of Free Motion classes available as well.  PLEASE NOTE:  These classes require some previous free motion experience.

Class #1 – TEXTURES – In class, students will define organic shapes and then use their knowledge of free motion to fill and enhance their designs.

Class # 2 – CUSTOM DESIGN – In this class, students will bring an actual finished piece such as a wall hanging, table runner, or quilt . . . and within the class session, students will draft a custom quilting design in which they will then machine quilt using free motion as well as template based designs.

Class # 3 – FEATHERS,FEATHERS,FEATHERS – This class is an in depth study how to quilt feathers within various shapes, squares, triangles, as well as all over designs. The student will build confidence to create a no-mark feather design.

Class #4 – BACKGROUND FILLERS  – This class will concentrate on learning background designs using a grid system as well as freeform designs. This class is a logical progression for students to build their confidence in their free motion.

Class #5 – MEDALLION WHOLECLOTH QUILT – This class will be a wonderful class for students to use all the knowledge they have gained from previous free motion classes to create a beautiful wall hanging.

ZENTANGLE/PAISLEY FUSION CLASS – For all you free motion quilters, I have taken the Zentangle idea from the art world and combined it with traditional quilting designs to come up with my original concept – Zentangle/Paisley Fusion. Students will be creating an allover quilted fabric to use as a wall hanging (a finished piece of art) or fabric to use for purse, tote, or whatever you can imagine.

THREADPAINTED PUMPKIN TABLEMAT – This is the first in a series of my original designs that I am offering in pattern form and kit for sale.  Students will follow along with this fusible applique class and basic thread painting techniques.  All templates for applique, thread painting and quilting designs are included in the pattern.  The pattern will need to be purchased for class; the kit may also be purchased . . . but not necessary.

* When I teach on the road, the cost for an all-day class is $35.00 per person (plus mileage).  This fee includes student packets unless a pattern/kit is required.   I do ask for a minimum of 20 students and 25 class members is usually the max (give or take a few) so everyone can receive individual help.

* Students will need sewing machines and basic supplies.  I will provide a supply list prior to the event so students can be prepared for the class/workshop.

* If I need to drive more than 1 1/2 hours to your destination for a guild program, it is required to be in combination with an all-day class/workshop.
